Stay Positive

Managing People

No one gets up in the morning and says "I think I'll mess up today"--yet sometimes a person's behavier at work makes us think he or she must have started the day in such a way.Focus on improving people's behavior rather than on blaming them when their behavier is poor.

Delegating

When delegating,beclear on the goaland flexable on the means for attaining that goal. Give others a chance to bring their own ideas and approach to the task. the following quote from Poor Richard's Almanac says it best "If you ride a horse,sit close and tight. If you ride a man,sit easy and light."

Take care of the Customer

Bob Nelson once said:"You'll never get your employees to treat customers better than they feel the company is treating them.Assume that employees can go elsewhere, and treat themas if you'd prefer that they stay."
In these times when unemployment is high Managers sometimes find it tempting to get careless with the way they treat the staff. I would like to remind you while unemployment is high Customers are few, and the way you treat your staff could dictate how much of the few customers you attract and keep.

Haiti

My heart goes out to the people of Haiti,It is sad to imagine these people who have suffered so much to once again be hit like this.
As we all rush to assist in what every way we can let us continue to pray for them.
It is natural for me to ask what can we learn in every situation. I must confess although I remain positive there will be lessons to be learnt I have not identify yet. Well not acurate. I have been impressed by the spirit of unity of purpose as injured people join search teams to find survisors. As I enjoy that United force by the Haitians and the Unity of purpose shown by world leaders I couldn't help but imagine how much we would achieve as citezens of this world if we could all get together and work for the common good of humanity.
Before rebuilding we demolish I Look forward to the rebuilding of Haiti. It's infrastructure, It's economy and it's People.
